Singapore President Nathan visits China

President Nathan visit to China from August 16-23. A statement from Singapore's Foreign Ministry said he will visit Beijing and Shanghai. While in Beijing, President Nathan will call on President Hu Jintao and be hosted to dinner by Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Jia Qinglin. While in Shanghai, he will visit the World Expo in support of the Singapore Pavilion. He will also meet the Overseas Singaporean communities in Beijing and Shanghai. President Nathan will be accompanied by Mrs Nathan and senior officials from the President's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Singapore has created an attractive pavilion for the World Expo but it can still learn from other countries' exhibits, he said

Thai Foreign Minister in Singapore

When talk about political, I always have no comment or idea because I do not interesting in political news. So I am try my best about this type of news.

This weekend Mr. Kasit Piromya, Thailand’s Foreign Affairs Minister is going to Singapore on Saturday for a two—day visit(August 21-22). He is here for the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Royal Thai Embassy. During his visit, Mr Kasit will be hosted to lunch by his Singapore counterpart George Yeo, and he will also meet members of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Foreign Affairs as well as visit the Tuas South Incineration Plant to update himself on Singapore’s waste management practices.

In my opinion, Thailand and Singapore are in South East Asian together. So this is good for two government keeping connection.

In addition, they want this casino to become Asian gambler option.

In my opinion, for me I do not like gambling. However. I think some people like it because it is fun and they want to play game chance for money. On other hand, you can lose lots of money because gambling too.

Growth in Singapore's non-oil domestic exports

If you going to do business in Singapore, you would get benefit form your business for sure. Singapore is the one country in Asia which economic is growing ever Singapore is small country but their business fill is large for businessman who wants to invest.

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) grew by 18 percent in July on an on-year basis, slower than the 28 percent rise in the previous month, latest official data showed on Tuesday.According to latest figures released by the trade promotion agency International Enterprise Singapore, the healthy increase was due to electronic and non-electronic NODX increase.Electronic NODX increased by 26 percent in July on a year-on- year basis, after the 44 percent rise in the previous month. Non- electronic NODX grew by 14 percent, after the 21 percent rise in the previous month.On a year-on-year basis, NODX to all of the top ten NODX markets increased. In particular, NODX to the Europe Union, by 26 percent, 35 percent and 35 percent respectively.On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, non-oil domestic exports (NODX) decreased by 3.9 percent in July, after the previous month's marginal 0.1 percent decline.

In my opinion, this is a good news for Singapore that non-oil domestic exports grew because in every business companies or countries want their own business to grown up in every month and year.

Singapore’s CleanTech Park to be Ready by 2030

When I saw this news, I am feeling wow!!! this park is very cool. I never thought this park going to be on this earth. There is a really high-tech park because it is Singapore’s first eco-business park for companies involved in clean technologies and sustainable urban solutions. The park is separate with 3 places and the development will take over 20 years. Phase 1 will commence in July 2010 and will provide about business park land when completed in 2018. Phase 2 will be developed from 2019 to 2025, and Phase 3 from 2026 to 2030. The Clean Tech Park(CTP) will house a working population of 20,000 when it is fully built by 2030. This is Singapore’s masterplan, the CTP will be developed as the most sustainable eco-business park in Singapore with the implementation of green strategies and its emphasis on retaining the natural environment and biodiversity. The green strategies in the Clean Tech Park include:

1. Stormwater management ; The stormwater within CleanTech Park will be channelled into a central wetland.

2. Sky Trellis; it will be constructed between adjacent buildings and covered with plants. It can open spaces between buildings, it can reduce heat gain by the buildings from the environment.

   
   

3. Conservation of Green Zones; conservation zones are demarcated areas within CTP where trees and plants are conserved.

4. Protection of biodiversity; animals such as the birds and butterflies to remain within CTP.

5. Designated Green Corridors; it is green areas between the buildings and land parcels within the park.

6. Building a Green Community; CTP will nurture the fist green business community and environment such as recycling and car pooling programmes.

7. Green Features that reduce demand on resource utilization;using recycled and green materials for infrastructure development.

In my idea, there is a good park that buil to help the environment. One day I am going to visit this park. I think Singapore is a small country but they are a huge detail in everything. They are trying to make their own country as a better place for citizens and visitors. Moreover, I hope Thailand will have a good plan like as Singapore does for their citizen.

Go Green!

This week, I'm going to talk about environment in Singapore. Then I was thinking in Thailand, we have waste problem so I think in Singapore have the same waste problem as Thailand. So, I am going to focus on urban waste. Nowadays waste issue is one of the cause of global warming,so today Singapore is trying to management waste problem. Professor Jim Swithenbank has experience about waste management over 80 participants from the industries and public agencies. Prof Swithenbank’s presentation affirmed the importance of integrating the waste management process in climate mitigation efforts. So the way to low-carbon environment is the active recovery of materials and energy to reduce the environmental burden from high consumption patterns. There are called the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, is necessary to conserve resources and reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill. Waste being largely carbon neutral, has similar calorific value as raw material, and could serve as feedstock to power the energy cities need. Next, energy recovery is the next step and could be achieved through combined heat and power (CHP)system,cogeneration in short, or even tri-generation system which recovers waste heat for cooling. This is reflect on Singapore’s situation. Singapore’s energy-intensive industries and power generators look to be in the best position to exploit both cogeneration and tri-generation capabilities.

In my opinion, I think these 3Rs is good process to help management waste problem. In Thailand we also use 3Rs to recover waste then make waste to energy. I think manage the waste, it is a way to help to decrease the global warning. Go green!

If you are watching technology news, you would hear about the World Expo at Shanghai. There is place that showing about each counties culture with new update technology. Many counties around the world join to set their show included Thailand. Singapore is one that join the World Expo. Form the article, on August 9 is Singapore's 45 th National Day so their going to celebrations. On saturday marked it is Pavilion Day at the Shanghai World Expo to promote their distinctive country identities. For visitor who visit in Singapore Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010 is to be called Urban Symphony – a tribute to how Singapore houses a delicate harmony of cultures coexisting together in a city-state. For this time Singapore celebrated National Day at Shanghai. It is help Singapore to see other countries vision. 

For highlights have been installed at the pavilion to enhance the visitor journey, showcasing cutting-edge technology from Singapore's home-grown interactive digital media companies.

In my opinion, the World Expo is very great for people to visit and see how each countries has improving their technology and how they are going to build the city of the future. I am also want to visit the World Expo because I think there is where I can get experience about technology.

This blog I’m going to talk about Singapore entertainment. I check in many website and I see the post that talk about Singapore famous actress, name, Fann Wong is in listed Asia‘s 25 greatest actors. She was role in many movies. For that time she walks alongside Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights that makes her in the first Singapore actress to star in Hollywood movie. For her best role was “The truth about Jane and Sam” it was make her won a nomination for best new performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

In my opinion, I am proud of her that she is in the listed of Asia’s 25 greatest actors. As every actor or actress want people to happy and praise with their role. I think she is also proud of herself too. Moreover, if I was Singaporean I will support her role in every movie because she is like as brand of Singaporean and she is represents Singapore country to people in other side of the world know her country as actress.

2AM can do with the K wave riding strong in Singapore

As you know today K- pop is very strong fever in Thailand and all around Asia countries. Also K-pop has established a firm footing in Singapore after F.T. Island, SHINee, Super Junior, U-Kiss, Wonder Girls and Beast their did promotions in Singapore. This is time for Korean group; 2AM to hit in Singapore is a four-member boy band who staged on one day showcase. 2AM made their debut as 'One Day' with fellow Korean group, 2PM, but they branched out to form the current entity. The members are Jinwoon, Jo Kwon, Seulong, and Changmin. Though 2AM specializes in love tunes, they prove to be equally adroit at techno music and dancing in their new album “I Did Wrong.”
I think is good that people in Asian are supporting about entertainment business each other. Also we can learn about culture by listening songs.
